This breed requires a dog experienced owner with sufficient time for proper socialization and training.. Early and consistent training is vital. When these needs are met, the Akbash Dog is a beautiful, loyal, protective companion of all family members. They are known to guard children they have been raised with (they should be socialized with other children as well). The adult Akbash can weigh between 75lb and 140lbs.
